Fox Expansion:

Phase One Finished

Jim Pattillo and his South of Olympic Committee met with Fox studio representatives early last year to discuss the progress of the Fox expansion project.

The committee reports:

Phase 1 of the construction is complete and all mitigations have been implemented.

A daycare facility for just over 100 children is being completed.

Phase 2 of the project has two new proposed entrances:

1. Ingress only of between 300 and 500 cars daily on Olympic Blvd. at an as yet undetermined location.

2. Ingress and egress on Avenue of

the Stars.

Meters which count vehicular traffic at the studio have been installed at all entrances. An analysis and review of the information from the meters has been collected by the City and will be reviewed by the Department of Transportation.

To alleviate the problems that Fox has had with past contractors and subcontractors who violated mandated construction hours, Fox has added new language—including stepped up penalties for code violations—to all new construction contracts.

Fox will forward to Tract No. 7260 specifications and other information about the type and number of satellite dishes on the lot.

Representing 7260 at the meeting along with South of Olympic Chair Jim Pattillo were Marie Epstein, Bob Schwartz, Edith Shain, Hanah Solomon, and Diane Witz.
